AIM Monthly Update – April

AIM Monthly Update – April

For most of us, Spring is starting to bloom and the world around us in coming alive again. This time of year is always the perfect reminder of the new life God gives us in Christ because it’s seen so visibly in His creation all around us. The same applies at AIM’s programs in Cambodia this month. We’re blessed to celebrate a few anniversaries and milestones in the month of April, and we’re overjoyed to share with you that God is bringing new life to many children and young women as a result of your support.

Siem Reap Ministries- 5 year Anniversary

Children who are exploited in Svay Pak often end up trafficked north to Siem Reap, a destination for sex tourism especially for Chinese men. In 2012, AIM began operating in Siem with community outreach efforts, an employment center, and the establishment of a Rahab’s House church. Savry, the Director of Rahab’s House Siem Reap said, “We were seeing that there were still so many victims working in sex establishments that needed to be freed. That’s why we are here.”

By November 2013, AIM celebrated the grand opening of a new outreach center in the heart of the red light district in Siem Reap. In that building, AIM offers English classes, a medical clinic, an outreach salon, and many other activities all with the purpose of building relationships, introducing local residents to the Gospel and offering women opportunities for employment and safe housing to leave lives of sexual exploitation.

Since opening, we’ve also added another Rahab’s House Transitional Home location in Siem Reap. This ministry provides a safe place for young women who are leaving, or have been rescued from, the sex industry. Here, they receive healing, care and restoration until they’re ready to reintegrate into independent living.

“So many young survivors would not have a way out if we were not here,” Savry Klot shares in the video above. “Thank you for supporting our work. Please continue to pray for and support our work [in Siem Reap].”

AIM SWAT Team – 3 Year Anniversary

In a recent interview with ABC Nightline Don spoke about the AIM SWAT Team and said, “Christians should be kick-ass.” And it’s true! God doesn’t want us only to pray and hope that girls are rescued. He wants us to GO GET THEM. The AIM SWAT Team does just that.

In 2014, after facing enormous challenges with the integrity of the local police force, AIM was inspired to create this team to conduct investigations, plan raids, kick down doors, and rescue those who are trapped in the world’s darkest places. Their work speaks for itself with 713 people rescued to date.

We invite you to peak into the work of this amazing “kick-ass” team, and watch the AIM SWAT Team in action on our recent ABC Nightline special, and learn about all of their work.
