AIM SWAT CASE REPORTS

At around 8 P.M. on Wednesday, January 17th, a raid was conducted at a brothel fronting as a massage parlor in Phnom Penh by the Municipal Anti-Human Trafficking and Juvenile Protection (AHTJP) Police, supported by AIM SWAT Officers. The raid was the culmination of a covert operation acting on information that young girls were being sold for sex at the premise.
During the raid, 3 minors and 3 adults were rescued. The youngest minor was only 12 years old. One trafficker was arrested at the scene. Officers searched for and seized evidence at the brothel, and then it was officially closed by Police, the Prosecutor, and local authorities.
During interviews with the victims, they all shared that they had been sold for sexual services to the profit of the trafficker, who was subsequently detained for court and charged with child sex trafficking-related offenses. The 3 minors have been transferred to AIM Restoration Home where they are now receiving rehabilitative and aftercare services. They will be represented by the AIM SWAT legal team through the upcoming court proceedings.

In early January, AIM SWAT received information that Vietnamese minors were being brought from Vietnam and being sold for sex at a brothel fronting as a massage parlor in central Phnom Penh. The Phnom Penh Department of Anti-Human Trafficking and Juvenile Protection (AHTJP) Police, supported by AIM SWAT Officers, commenced a covert operation and raided the location around 8 P.M. on Thursday, January 25th.
During the raid, one minor and two adults were rescued, and one suspected trafficker was arrested. Following the search for and seizure of evidence, the brothel was officially closed by the Police, Prosecutor, and the local authorities.
After interviewing the victims, the minor was transferred to AIM Restoration Home. The two adult victims were transferred to AIM Transitional Home to receive rehabilitative and aftercare services. The suspected trafficker was detained for court and charged with child sex trafficking related offenses and will be held there until trial.
