A young Cambodian woman had been trafficked and sold for marriage to China and her trafficker has just been arrested. AIM SWAT is working with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to rescue and repatriate the victim.
On October 18th, Cambodian Police of the Kratie and Rattanakiri provinces along with the AIM SWAT team successfully arrested a woman suspected of trafficking young women. The suspect’s very own daughters were amongst the group of women trafficked to China where they were purchased for sex and marriage.
A Cambodian man recently filed a complaint to the police in suspicion that his sister was lured to China by a married couple who lied about a promising job opportunity. Once she arrived, a Chinese man purchased her from the couple and forced her to marry him.
