Pre-Thanksgiving Raid Rescues 3 Minors in Phnom Penh

While most of us in the USA were prepping for Thanksgiving on Wednesday, November 22nd, the Phnom Penh Municipal Anti-Human Trafficking and Juvenile Protection (AHTJP) Police and AIM SWAT Officers conducted a raid at a massage parlor suspected to be a front for a brothel.

The raid followed a short covert operation which confirmed that minors were being sold for sex at the location. During the raid, 3 minor Khmer girls were rescued, and one suspected trafficker was arrested.

Following the search and seizure of evidence at the location, all 3 victims were interviewed and shared that they had been sold to the profit of the suspected trafficker. The girls, who were all confirmed to be minors, have been transferred to AIM Restoration Home via the Government District Social Affairs Office.

The suspected trafficker has been charged with child sex trafficking related offenses and remanded in prison to await trial. The AIM SWAT Legal Team will represent the victims throughout the legal process, and the massage parlor/brothel was officially closed by AHTJP Police and local authorities.
